Any reassurance from those who know?

Hi I've never posted here before!

Okay I'm not at knowledgeable about markets or investments. But I have some unit trusts that invested in a while ago. I just leave it in the funds and its managed by the company. The investment is spread across funds.
I made the mistake of checking a couple of days ago and the total price of all funds had dropped by a significant amount. Obviously due to the markets crashing because of Covid-19.

I don't generally follow markets and don't generally check the price even after Brexit vote and all that turmoil.

So I suppose I'm asking to those who might know a little about these things. Will the market recover over time? Can I recover the loss? I have no plans to withdraw any funds. I am happy to leave it there for the time being.

Investments are a long term game. You can expect amazing years and really bad years, but overall, USUALLY, over ten plus years they go upwards. Its likely yours will recover eventually, but who knows when and by how much. It would be sensible to ask this question of your investment company. And do not withdraw your money now at the bottom or near bottom of the market.

I think I just wanted to hear from others some sort of sensible perspective like yours.
I have no intention of withdrawing right now. I just got a bit of a shock!

I will phone the company, they tend to steer away from giving any financial advice, however they may provide information.
