I am wondering if anyone is heard about this company or scheme. See this link

www.wayhome.co.uk/

Just wondering if it's worth buying one's home or investing through this company/scheme?

You'd have probably got a better response on the Property/DIY thread. But here's my 2c. This is not a good option really. You buy equity and then pay rent on the rest. Unlike shared ownership you do not take out a mortgage, you only buy what you can afford there and then. I do not think this is a good option (I say this as a shared owner) because you don't get much chance to save or invest. eg. as a SO I pay X into a mortgage, that gains me more ownership on equity, and Y (discounted rate when you crunch the numbers) in rent. With this scheme you put up X at the beginning and just pay Y at the market rate less your ownership %. It's also not a recognised scheme, it's a commercial transaction. You lose residential purchase benefits. The benefit of this over SO is that if you stop paying rent you still own the equity, they cannot take it away from you (a subtle but important risk of SO)

Op be very careful with schemes like this. If the company goes bust, you are screwed!
