We are in the process of buying an house but it failed the environmental searches based on the fact that it has contaminated soil. There a few homes that have been sold on the same street recently so I thought it wasn't that big a deal. The vendors have agreed to get indemnity insurance to cover us. Is this anything anyone has experienced? Did you struggle to sell your house on after a failed environmental? Our bank is taking forever to agree to lend the money now that the house failed the search even though the vendor has agreed to cover the indemnity insurance. Has anyone else experienced anything similar and is there any advice you can offer?
