Down regulation with Buserelin — I am worried?

Hi everyone.
I am soon to be starting my first ivf cycle. As we found out that my amh is on the lower-normal side for my age my doctor put me on down regulation first for 18 days with Buserelin, and then stimulating with Ovaleap for another 14 days + continue Buserelin at the same time. I am in my 20’s.

I am terrified of how much it will impact me since it’s a full month of being on medication. I already struggle with anxiety and depression, and am taking theraphy for it. I’d really appreciate anyone’s encouragement or experience with down regulation, especially buserelin. Thank you so much 🥹❤️

Also, I havent told anybody we will be doing IVF but I feel like it’s really going to impact my life so perhaps I should tell one person that I trust. Would you recommend telling anybody? I don’t want to regret telling anyone later though. Please help 😭

I downregged with burserelin at the same time as being on medication for anxiety / depression and I remember having similar worries. To my surprise I felt amazing on burserelin! I remember finding a thread at the time of other people’s experiences and there were others who had a similar experience to me of actually feeling really good and nice on it!

I would recommend telling someone if you have somebody who will be a good support. The downside is you can then end up with people keep asking ‘has it worked yet’ which can make you feel worse. It really depends what the person is like who you tell.

good luck, make sure you look after yourself! Normally clinics offer counselling too so that might help x
