CRGH slow responses

CRGH Clinic - Any recent experiences ?

After a lot of research and consultations, we've finalised CRGH for our 2nd attempt at IVF. The doctor was great, we had a really good initial consultation and are convinced we want to go with CRGH. However, things have been less ideal since. We've been waiting for the consultation summary for more than a week, after several follow ups we only received the estimates for suggested IVF packages. The FCC would like us to sign these before they set up a nurse consultation. I have asked them for a consultation summary from the doctor and haven't had a response yet. I'm a little bit concerned about how slow they respond and the way this is being handled. I hope things are quicker once we sign the forms and get on with the treatment. Could someone with recent experience confirm this will be okay please ?

I haven’t been to CRGH but at my clinic they only provided estimates for treatment costs because really it depends on how many tests, scans and what medication you’re prescribed. Just sharing in case that helps! I also found at my clinic things were quicker if I called rather than emailed (not sure if you’ve been calling or emailing). But will let someone else speak to CRGH specifically xx

All my CRGH consultation summaries were sent as paper copies via post. They would basically sum up what was discussed and the suggested treatment. They also use to send one at other key stages for example a letter to confirm how many blastocysts were produced.

They used to upload any other relevant info such as information leaflets to the portal instantly (or within a few hours after the consults). Have you asked the specific consultant’s assistant? They normally all have like an admin assistant.

Thanks for all your responses. I called up CRGH and was able to get a response finally after speaking with them on phone. When I mentioned about weeks of no response to my e-mail, they simply asked me to call up if I don't see a response in a few days.

I'm not sure who the admin assistant to the doctor is. I believe I have now been assigned an FCC, so hopefully things will move smoothly. On that note, do you know if you have to buy medications from CRGH or could you buy them yourself elsewhere at a discount price ? This is our final go and we appreciate any tips you may have from your experience.

@febmiracle they use a company called pharmasure if u get your prescriptions through them. U don’t have to tho. For one cycle I asked for a paper prescription (I can’t remember if there is a £10 admin fee.. for some reason admin fee popped into my head but it was a while ago), anyway I took the prescription to Asda pharmacy for a quote but actually in the end pharmasure was cheaper for me. It really depends on the meds. The thing to be careful of is if they prescribe things like prednisolone which are deffo cheaper if u get a prescription and go to boots! xx

Excellent, this is good to know. In my previous IVF cycle with another clinic - we felt that ASDA was 40% cheaper than with the clinic. Like you said, it probably depends on the medications. Thanks for your tips, fingers crossed for everything next!
