Finally starting IVF and shitting myself

After 4 years of TTC, countless tests and tears, we've finally been given the green light to start IVF on the 10th September. It's all I've wanted to hear for years, and now I've heard it, I am SHITTING myself.

I don't even know why I'm making this thread. I assume I'm right to be scared, because it's a scary process, but I'm also a bit excited. I feel like I haven't processed this yet.

Is anyone else in a similar position? I feel like simultaneously jumping for joy and vomiting.

The waiting for treatment to start is really hard, but once you get started there’s a rhythm and momentum to it with the scans, blood tests and medication. Maybe this is a weird analogy but it’s like waiting for school to start at the end of the holidays? I weirdly felt like it was back to school when I would go back to the clinic

And natural to have mixed feelings about it even when it’s something you want so badly

Wishing you all the best for it xx

Yes, that's exactly how my husband described it - like going back to school!

I guess it's also a bit of the unknown. I'm sure I'll settle down once we get started and I know what I'm doing. Thank you! x
