Prednisolone side effects

Hi everyone, I had 5 failed transfers and this time was prescribed Prednisolone (25mg) daily by Pr. Thum. I’m supposed to start taking it next week, but I’m really stressed about it.
If anyone taken it, what were your side effects? And what dose were you on? Also, did anyone get pregnant with this protocol?
I’m especially worried about weight gain and getting the “moon face”.
Thank you!

Hello 👋 I have taken it for 2/3 transfers now and haven’t had any side effects. You are taking it for too short a time for it to cause weight gain I think. Unfortunately it hasn’t actually helped me to get pregnant :(

Hey! I am currently weening off it after taking it for the first time for my last transfer. I think I had two side effects from it, SUCH a dry mouth, and would be absolutely starving in the morning. I don’t know for sure it was that but I’ve never had that with any of my previous transfers! But no weight gain or anything, so it really wasn’t that bad!

unfortunately it didn’t help me get pregnant but I blame the embryo for that one!

I wouldn’t worry about giving it a go ☺️

I’ve had it for my last 3 transfers, first 2 failed but just got my BFP this transfer. I’ve never really had any symptoms other than sometimes a bit more hungry than usual but I just made sure I had healthier lower calorie snacks in the house to nibble on. I’m on 20mg daily and would recommend taking it in the morning as it can cause insomnia if taken at night. Hope it goes well for you xx

I was on 25mg under Dr thum as well, my first transfer didn't work but second did and the result is my 5 month old baby. I was on the prednisolone until 14 weeks. I did gain weight and my face was def rounder, but that could also have been from pregnancy nausea and being ravenous for beige foods - which I'd had in a previous 1st trimester when i wasnt on prednisolone!

Otherwise no major side effects.I can attribute to the steroids, I was on a lot of progesterone too so basically felt fairly crap most of the time! I'd take it again for a future pregnancy if it seemed necessary,.I'd done NK cell testing and had higher than desired levels hence the prednisolone being prescribed
