Low progesterone after embryo transfer, any successful experiences?

I had an embryo transfer a few days ago and was told that my progesterone levels were low (29) and am now taking injections (first one i did i think most of the liquid spilled out as I haven't taken injections in so long and it hurt a lot) and also taking progesterone seposatories..I know that its now a waiting game but wondered if anyone else had low progesterone levels and went on to be successful? Thanks

in terms of progesterone I was told:
under 15 - cancel
15-45 - extra progesterone
above 45 - ideal

no personal experience yet sorry, but at least you were on the higher end so with extra support you should be fine

Hiya, I had low progesterone levels during a couple of my transfers (can’t remember the exact numbers). On my last FET I was on 2 pessaries a day up to 16 weeks and an injection every third day up to 13 weeks for progesterone. My baby girl is now 4 months old! It’s good that they’ve identified your low levels now, and given you meds to address this. Fingers crossed for you, sending baby dust!

Hey I'm not sure if this will come up as a reply to your message @VioletHaze24 but my embryo transfer was successful on first attempt and am now almost 15 weeks pregnant:) I can't believe how fast it's all gone since the transfer..the nausea has been awful but at least it's temporary! Thanks for asking :) x

Sorry, forgot to ask @Strictlyfan11, were you taking the injections daily or every 2-3 days along with your progesterone pessaries? Thanks. I think I’m going to speak to my clinic. I have a level of 49 nmol/L (which I know is in the “safe zone”) but I’m only on 2 pessaries a day and I think a lot of the success stories are from people who are on a combined protocol of pessaries and injections.

I'm not sure what levels my progesterone levels got up to as they weren't measured after the test but I was given more medication (progesterone and estrogen) to take after embryo transfer for around 4 weeks after...I had to wean off them which was fine apart from I accidently didn't wean off the estrogen tablets because I couldn't wait to finish them and I was throwing up after when my hormone levels were lowering, the nausea has been horrible..even now I still get bad sickness but its not as bad as before! It hasn't been an easy ride hormone wise but still a successful outcome:) x

@VioletHaze24 yes I was taking the vaginal seposatories i think 3 times a day and then I weaned off them to I think 1 or 2 for a few days..I also took the injections once a day at night..it was a lot to juggle as it was about 3 different medications..yes I think combining might help :) xx

@VioletHaze24 I meant that my progesterone levels weren't tested again after they originally found out that they were low, sorry I wasn't very clear in my previous post..and I think I took the medication for longer than 4 weeks post embryo transfer..but it's all very individual:) I hope it all goes smoothly for you if you're also going through the same journey and that you get a successful outcome too :) xx
