Should we try our last euploid embryo transfer or stop now?

Hi all,

After some advice, experience and realism.

I’m 38, OH is 40. Low AMH, and MFI. We’ve had 8 ‘cycles’

1 & 2 EC with TFP, no fertilisation.

3 & 4 EC with new clinic. Excellent fertilisation, blastocyst and euploid rates.

Transfer 1 - BFP (untested) miscarried at 7+2 after seeing heartbeat. Found out at 10wks

Transfers 2 and 3 - BFN (untested)

Transfer 4 - BFP (Euploid) chemical pregnancy, currently going through process of waiting for HCG to leave my body

We have a day 6 4AB Euploid left. What on earth do we do? Are we unlucky? Or should we give up?

Hi @PlanBFertility26 I’m really sorry to hear your transfer hasn’t been successful this time, it’s so heartbreaking and distressing when it doesn’t work. Personally though, I don’t think your situation is as dire as you think - your first 3 transfers could easily have been aneuploid, and also the fact that you got a BFP and got to the point of seeing a heartbeat is a positive as it shows an embryo was able to implant, although I’m very sorry it didn’t progress from there. It’s also super positive that you still have a good quality euploid embryo left, there’s still a good chance it could work!

Have you done any other testing? Like NK cells or blood clotting etc? It might be worth checking those things before trying another transfer, if you’re able to? And maybe review your protocol with your dr - could you do something different? Do you have endo for example, as it could be worth trying down regulation if you haven’t already.

Its of course up to you, and also depends on how you feel mentally/emotionally with regards to whether you try again, but personally I think if you have a euploid left it’s absolutely worth trying. You could also wait a bit of time and grieve this current loss first, and then see how you feel? As right now you’ll be in the depths of it.

I’ve had 5 failed transfers (only one of which was tested euploid) and a missed miscarriage, so I totally understand the feeling of despair/lack of hope. I still have some euploids left, so I’m going to try at least one more, and have a new protocol for the next one so hoping that might make the difference…

Sending you all the love and luck with whatever you decide to do next ❤️

Thank you so much for replying @Sunnydaysahead1 I’m so sorry to hear of your journey. It’s awful is it?

I’m definitely going to ask to look into further testing. I had antibiotics/probiotics this time as they would if I had abnormal uterus flora as well as low dose aspirin.

absolutely try it. I've gone through 7 ivfs cycles and got success on my last one. Same as you- 6 day 4ab blast xx

I also insisted on quad therapy. It's steroids, blood thinners and aspirin that they use for people who have repeat miscarriages. It's much cheaper than going through the testing xx

@Dumbledora8 how many transfers did you have if you don’t mind me asking? Did any implant?

i had 6 transfers and it worked on the 6th go. One cycle I didn't get to transfer as no embryos survived.

I had 2 early losses from those, 3 failed to implant xx

I'd definitely transfer to see and so I knew, I feel like I'd always wonder if I didn't. Really hope whatever you decide goes well 💕
