Edinburgh and Glasgow experiences

Does anyone have experience of using both the Edinburgh Fertility Clinic at the Royal Infirmary and TFP GCRM in Glasgow?

I've done one round of IVF at Edinburgh which didn't work out and I'm considering another round. I spoke to a private consultant in London yesterday and had a bit of a debrief of my Edinburgh experience and he recommended not using them again based on my treatment. Unfortunately I can't use this private clinic at travelling to London isn't feasible (and much more expensive) but I value his opinion.

Edinburgh seems like it is one protocol they use as standard. For example I was put on long protocol/down reg and the private consultant said 80% of clinics never do that now and it's quite out dated. I felt it was to fit in with their opening hours when I queried.

I called Glasgow clinic and the wait doesnt seem too long. Also it looks on the website that the cost is actually cheaper than Edinburgh which surprised me, but I'm not sure if I'm reading it wrong. But to even talk to someone about it is over £200 and I can't keep spending money just to discuss options. I searched here for the GCRM clinic and there were some awful reports in the news a few years ago.

Wondering if anyone can share recent experiences? TIA

I can't give you any info on the comparison but GCRM will probably still require you to do the £240 consultation either way. It seems to be the only pathway into their care.

The current wait appears to be about 4mo consultation to treatment start date.

Thanks for your reply @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl.
They do have some online events in July so I might go along to that. It seems unfair you have to spend so much just to have a discussion to see if it would be a good/better option.

When I called on Friday, it sounded like weeks instead of months. There was a consultation available late June then weeks after that we could start. But the guy on the phone didn't seem totally clued up and things were quite vague.
