TTC baby no. 2

My husband and I have been trying for baby number 2 since around July last year. I started off tracking my ovulation but was never finding my peak and it was stressing me out, so we gave it a break for a few months. During this time my cycle became irregular but come November I picked up tracking again. I couldn’t work out what was going on as I have always had a regular cycle, the only thing that was different was the fact I was on sertraline and had been for around 12 months so I decided to come off it in December. My first period after coming off was bang on time which hadn’t happened for a few months, however it lasted for two weeks. My cycle is now 44 days and I have just had another negative pregnancy test. I am really gutted, I am going to sort a doctors appointment and see what can be done to help. I had a c section with my daughter so I also don’t know if this has damaged my reproductive system at all.

Has anyone had anything similar to this and what was done for you? I really want a second baby to complete my family but I am starting to lose hope, as I am 35 years old and I don’t think we will continue to try once she turns 4 because I don’t want the age gap to be too large between them. I am just feeling so sad and lost about all of this

I think first steps are to get you and partner some fertility testing done which is really simple. I also think you shouldnt have a specific time line as this just adds to the pressure. You might need some help with ovulating, could be your progesterone is a bit low. You may just need a bit of help boosting these things. Its also best to test partners sperm. And if you both arnt already, then start taking some fertility supplements. Could be something super simple that is just not cooperating and easily fixed, but wont know unless you run a few test.

I really feel for you. Me and my husband have been trying for a 2nd for over 2 years now and the watching everyone fall pregnant so easily around me (friends with 3rd babies, sil pregnant) is really hard right now.
