Starting IVF whilst have a cold

So I developed a sore throat and post nasal last friday 10th, took pain killers and by Monday green mucus and the sore throat was gone but currently still have thick clear mucus and stuffy nose, like when you hear someone talk and you can tell they been under the weather..Otherwise I feel fine

I asked the clinic does having a cold/ virus impact ivf outcomes, they simply said "its how you feel". Ive already said I feel fine but clinically does it impact results, they then said "should be fine".

I've been waiting months and month for IVF since I was approved to commence back in 2025, for one reason or another its been delayed and now having to wait another whole cycle, is honestly just another month too long. Not to mention my cycles are long and ireegular, but ofcourse will do what's best to secure best possible outcomes.

So ladies, any advice around this would be much appreciated, thanks!

I think if your feeling fine and the infection is gone and its just a nasally drip then you should be ok. Sometimes after a cold the nose takes the longest to clear but it should not have any effects on implantation from happening. I dont think you need to wait for another cycle and juat go for it now.

It can be more impactful for men’s sperm count than for women’s egg quality. They may delay a transfer if you have a fever due to the raised core body temperature.
