3 day embryo update… help

Loosing the will at this point and need something, anything to get me through the next 2 days.

Quick overview, 33F with DOR and husband MFI. 5th round of IVF. I had my day 3 embryo update today after having only 3 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilised.

One embryo only 2 cells that has ‘stalled’ over the 3 days so we can count that out.

My other 2 are 6 and 7 cells - embryologist states yes they are around the right cells (ideally 8-10) however he said it’s not the cells he is bothered about but how they developed to this point - I am presuming uneven divide and uneven cells / fragmentation. Basically isn’t happy with transferring them on day 3 so cancelled my 3 day transfer and going to culture them further to day 5.

Can I just right this cycle off has anyone had any experience with this?

All my other cycles I have never had this before they have always developed as they should with each stage.

Hi, I don't have an answer for you but I feel your pain. I had a transfer on Saturday after a horrid 5 day wait. Only 3 of mine fertilised out of 11.
They don't do 3 day checks so I just had to wait until day 5. The embryologist had prepped me that there may not be anything to transfer and they wouldn't call on transfer morning, they'd just tell me when I got there!
For the whole 5 days I was expecting them to tell me I had nothing to transfer on the day I arrived at the hospital - you can't help but think that way and it's a way to protect your heart. I had one embryo to transfer, which took me by surprise but the other 2 didn't make it.
This is our 5th and final round. No more after this so if this one doesn't stick then we go on holiday (again, a way for me to run away and try and protect my heart)
