Questions to ask at fertility consultation

We're having a private fertility assessment this week (blood and urine tests, semen analysis, pelvic ultrasound, hycosy, followed up with consultation) and I'm wondering for those that have already gone through this what questions you'd recommend asking at this stage?

As a short background we've been ttc for a long time but my bmi meant we couldn't get treatment. I've now lost a lot of weight so treatment is finally an option. My DH had a sperm test several years ago showing low morphology and motility. Since then he's quit smoking and improved his diet. I get painful heavy periods and suspect I may have endometriosis and/or adenomyosis. Age is a factor as I'm now late 30s.

Best of luck with your fertility assessment! When I had my first consultation, I didn't really know what to ask either - you don't know what you don't know right.
As you go through your consultation and results, then questions will arise naturally as you have more information.
I think as standard and a question I had, was to really get a deep understanding of the what the fertility treatment options are. It's easy to think you know, particularly from reading stuff online, but actually hearing a professional explain okay what IVF or IUI etc is, can really help - also exploring whether a stimulated or natural approach is better (the clinic I am going with only offers natural IUI, not stimulated). I hope this kind of helps and again, best of luck!

On a side note, I came across this app that is launching soon called Bodie App - for tracking fertility treatment, cycles, appointments etc. Might be worth checking out as it seems like it will be super handy!

I would ask how the clinic will be keeping you updated. When we first did IVF 2022 it involved a lot of calls to/from the clinic which worked. Now we're going through it again it looks like everything has moved onto an app.

Thank you both. I'm getting more nervous the closer we get. Just keeping fingers crossed that we get some answers so we know what to do next.

Those standard tests won’t pick up your endo so I’d ask them about that.
