We are debating having a final cycle of IVF. We have two children but we always wanted to have three and never wanted our infertility to stop us from having what we dreamed off.

We had two failed cycles on NHS and then did a round with CRGW which resulted into embryos. Our DS was born from a fresh cycle and then 2 years later we had our DS. It would be a full round.

CRGW are no longer and have been taken over by Care and not sure whether we should use them or not. We have frozen sperm and ICSI would be needed so it’s looking like the costs would be £9000 which is substantially more than before. It also seems like things like embryo glue and assisted hatching aren’t included whereas they were before. Also the consultant we used previously is on sick leave so it would be someone new.

Has anyone got experienced with Care Cardiff? There also seems to be the fertility home in Bridgend which are a newer clinic. The only other one is London women’s clinic but I can’t think of anything worse than driving into centre of Cardiff for appointments!

Hi @jodesxx, we used Care Cardiff for our first IVF round back in September. I honestly couldn’t rate and thank them enough.

the care I received was amazing, I felt so looked after and informed at every stage. Everything was really organised and the app they use is really good and makes keeping in contact with the clinic easy. Also they are very responsive, I think I would get a reply usually in under 30 minutes.

I fell pregnant on my first transfer and I actually really miss all the staff and not seeing them most days! Everyone learnt our names and were so welcoming during our treatment and were genuinely so pleased for us when we had our positive test.

we did have to pay for any add ons like you said. I think for a full round of ICSI (using frozen sperm also, not donor) fresh transfer and medication (up to 12 weeks) it cost about 12k but we did do every add on possible and obvs needed progesterone support to 12 weeks (lubion is not cheap)

happy to answer anymore specific questions you have 🙂 xx
