Low sperm motility

Hello everyone. My partner and I have been trying to conceive for a year and a half.
After having a sperm analysis test, we've found out that he has low sperm motility.

He's in his early 40's and eats a mostly healthy diet, and exercises, although he does have around 3/4 stone to lose to get to his ideal body weight.
The doctor has of course recommended weight loss, healthy eating etc, so we have joined the gym for both of our benefit. He will often do intermittent fasting.

Can anyone recommend anything that really helped their partner increase their sperm motility? Or is it really just weight loss?

Thank you in advance for any help
I have also posted in "Conception" for traffic

Don’t want to leave you unreplied to - my husband’s morphology so not motility was “just” in the low range, so the doctors still weren’t sure if that was the issue.
either way IVF with ICSI worked for us xx

Hi, I would recommend no or very limited alcohol, no smoking/drugs of course, no hot baths or laptops on lap (unless on a heat resistant pillow/mini desk or something), no tight underwear, limited cycling/spin. Walnuts and brazil nuts are supposed to be good, staying hydrated, and if he wants to do some research on supplements then zinc and ubiquinol could be helpful. Not sure if this is motility specific but not trying every day around ovulation and instead every 2-3 days can be helpful to help replenish. And I can also recommend IVF with ICSI if needed. Good luck!!!

Hi, I can’t share personal experience, but I do believe in Chinese medicine—when it’s practiced by a qualified and proven doctor, of course.
