My husband and I are considering going for Instituto Bernabeu’s deal where you get an own egg cycle followed by a donor egg cycle. We had an initial consultation via video call and have now been sent the paperwork. Can anyone on here who’s used IB’s clinics answer the following:
- IB have asked for a vast array of tests to be done pre-treatment. I’ve had loads of IVF already in the UK and have never been asked to do all these blood tests (not to mention a smear and breast ultrasound scan)! How did you organise these? Did you get them all done in the UK privately and send the results over or were you able to get them done at IB’s clinic?
- How did you organise the medication? The doctor at IB said we’d need to purchase it there - did you then get it shipped to the UK? Or pick it up and take it in your suitcase back to the U.K. (if so did you need some kind of official paperwork)?!
- How much time did you need to spend abroad for your treatment? The IB doctor kept referring to 10-11 days there but also said we could get ultrasound scans done in the UK and send them to her or something?
It all seems very complicated but I know plenty of women in the UK go to Instituto Bernabeu so I would love to know how you organised it all!
