Embryo AA transferred day 5

Bodo777888 · 21/02/2026 11:12

Hi everyone,
I had a Day 5 AA embryo transfer on Monday (16/02). I took an Easy@Home test today (21/02), and it came back negative — not even a faint line.
I’m wondering if this likely means it hasn’t worked, or if it’s still too early to test?
Has anyone had a similar experience and later got a positive result? Any advice or insight would really help.
Thank you 🙏

That's more than double so try to enjoy the weekend, it looks like it's going in the right direction!! Fingers super duper crossed!!

Thats doubled. Could be perfectly fine . I have everything crossed for you that things keep progressing.

Latest update: gestational sac measured 3.2mm x 2.2mm x 2.5mm, and hCG only went from 1553 to 2156 in 48 hours. 6 weeks pregnant, and things still aren’t clear.

I’m feeling really stressed and anxious about it all. Has anyone had something similar and gone on to have a positive outcome? Just wondering whether there’s still any hope.

I’m so sorry things are so stressful and you still have no clarity. Did they see anything other than the sac?

No. Too small I think for anything else.

This might still be ok. When is your next scan?

I had a missed miscarriage in the end. The pregnancy barely developed, and the sac was empty. We still have 5 embryos left, graded AA and AB, but after this experience I’m feeling very uncertain.

Has anyone had their first transfer fail with an AA-graded embryo, but then gone on to have success with the second or third transfer? I’m now worried there could be abnormalities in all of the remaining embryos. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through something similar.

@Bodo777888 so sorry to read this. I unfortunately had a MMC with an 4AB, then BFN with my 4BB and 4AC. Doing PFTA

It does only take one so all the chance one of your remaining will be the one x

I'm really sorry to hear this. Remember the grade of the embryo only tells you that it's morphologically perfect -- it doesn't tell you whether it was euploid or not. If it was aneuploid it would never have been able to continue to grow; it doesn't mean your other embryos will be the same. But I understand your anxiety. You could have them tested?

I’m so sorry for your loss. MMCs are so hard.

I had a failed transfer with a euploid 4AA and then success with a euploid 3AB transfer and am now 22 weeks. Sending you strength and luck x

Not done in UK and no PGT A available for young embryo.

Just to give you some hope - my day 5, 5AA beauty of an embryo resulted in a BFN. I then went on to transfer other day 5 embryos of “lower quality”, and had 1 CP and then 2 live births. The rating REALLY isn’t everything x

Bodo777888 · 21/03/2026 12:44

Apart from PGT-A other way to find out if embryos are euploid or not?

i am 43 years old. Can play a part.

No, untested embryos. My embryos were created when I was 32.

Age will definitely play a factor in how many of your embryos are viable. But the higher graded embryos aren’t always the viable ones, regardless of age

Average at 43 is about 1 in 6 or 7 embryos will be euploid so hopefully you will get lucky with one from your stash.
