i know this will be different for everyone but after your funding was granted how long did you have to wait to start IVF cycle?

my clinic said i should be able to start the following period/maybe the month after but i reading some people on Tiktok’s journey having to wait 5plus months for clinics to be able to fit them in and start

I am having PGT (so process takes a little longer) but funding was approved 4th December and I started stims 1st February. And that was with the need for the PGT consult, Christmas and New year public holidays and an extra consultant letter I needed to get hold of to say they were happy for me to start (due to other medical investigations!).

ahh thank you for replying! my clinic don’t offer PG testing on the nhs or add on, what was the reason you are doing it if you don’t mind me asking? x

You're welcome ☺️ I was diagnosed with chromosome translocations after recurrent miscarriage, so we are having PGT-SR which is NHS funded x

Saw NHS doctor who approved the funding. He said we’d get approval in 6-8 weeks but had the letter in 1-2.
It had the approval and a list of clinics
at that point you choose a clinic and in our area you just contact them directly.
So from that point on you’re in the private system- we went for a private clinic that takes NHS funding so they could see us any time for a consultation, no wait times
From then they were ready to start next cycle, which for me was 3 days’ time.
I opted to go for the next cycle.
LMK if you want more details xx
