Conceiving over 43, success stories ❤️

I’ve just emerged from a failed FET of our only euploid embryo (a few days after my 43rd birthday) and am feeling bereft.

Some history: we did two egg collections aged 39 (because of 2 MMCs and 1 MC while TTC the previous year) resulting in 32 eggs, 7 blasts and only one PGTA embryo. A few weeks later we got surprise naturally pregnant with our perfect miracle daughter, so the embryo has been on ice for 3 years now. I had another MMC a few months ago aged 42 so have always assumed my uterus is happy to accept any old crap (I also only have one tube so actually get pregnant quite easily, considering) and we just needed a healthy embryo. This FET failing has shaken me. It didn’t even implant!!

We won’t do any more IVF (money, time, age, likelihood of it working, toddler life 💞) so will crack on au naturel until we lose our minds. We’re back on the impryl, DHEA, coq-10 and NAC. I’m going to keep having acupuncture. I eat very healthily and am in good shape. Stopped drinking in Jan and plan to continue. Don’t drink coffee.

I’d love to hear some success stories of women conceiving at 43 or beyond (my partner is 42) and what you think helped. Just to give me some hope. I am so desperate for another baby and to give my daughter a little sibling 🥺

You will get better information on Reddit, because it has far more contributors. Some examples below but there are also groups that are less specifically focused on IVF.

I think if you dont have an issue falling pregnant then its really just about catching that one good embryo. Is your partner also taking supplements, eating clean, cutting alcohol and doing everything he can to help with healthy sperm? Sorry about your losses, they are very hard to come to terms with and get past especially when they were very much wanted and loved in that short time. Iv also done 3 transfers and had 1 chemical, 1 not stick at all and one loss at 7 weeks. We did 2 cycles last year. Going for another cycle in march. Im perimenopausal and hormones are very lacking, I keep gaining weight because of this and been struggling to get it off before my next cycle. I dont know if I will get another baby but im 40 and at some point I have to stop.

@Miraclemuma03 ugh it’s all so desperately unfair and stressful, isn’t it? I’m so sorry for all your losses. Wanting to give your child a sibling and wanting to experience the baby days one more time is so hard. It feels just within reach but not quite, and the drawbridge is being pulled up by the day. We’re both on a big health kick, and taking all the supplement once more. Now I guess we just have to hope. I’ll be hoping for you too 🙏🏼
