Had bad results Low AMH

Evening, just came back from an IVF clinic and have been given the news that at age 38 (39 in a few months) my follicle count was 3 each ovary and AMH 0.80. My partner was fine bless him.
They said it’s a very low possibility for IVF to work and mentioned if we were to try - I’d be on the highest dose and might even have to cancel the first round if they feel my eggs were not working etc

weve had two miscarriages one in 2024 and one last year.

They also then mentioned donor eggs.

I’m at a loss at what my next step is. I have underactive thyroid so sorting that out again but I don’t know what to do. I’m so desperate and very ready to be a mum and have a room with all stuff ready to go. I feel very lost and unsure of my future.

we are happy to go with anything at moment - what’s helped you guys and what do you suggest? Anything welcome.

@DogMum87 I'm sorry that you've had this news and for your losses. It's so hard when you just want to be a mum. I don't know how you feel about donor eggs and I recommend counseling to help you to process this news. In your shoes, I'd probably try a cycle of own egg IVF first so that I had the knowledge I'd tried and if it is unsuccessful, you might feel more clarity about next steps. What I've realised about motherhood is it's the time and care that makes the bond. I don't think it's just genetics. Would I prefer to be carrying an own egg child right now? Absolutely, but this little baby is with me every day and I already feel bonded. Donor eggs make it so much more likely that you can just get on with it, have success and stop losing out on time when you could be loving your child which I think is ultimately what we most want. It took me a few years to get to this point! Sending a hand hold.

Before going ahead please have a chat with Dr Rahi Victory. He’s based in Canada but he has clients all over the world, he is opening a clinic in the UK though. He really is amazing! Before my next cycle I’ll be having a consultation with him. He has different protocols for every scenario and I know I’ve seen before he said about clinics putting women on really high doses when it doesn’t achieve anything, could even make it worse. Don’t settle for what the clinic say x

I also have low egg reserve but I do collect 5 eggs with each round and my clinic is happy with this and i have had successful embryo transfers. There is a good chance that with 6 follicles you could get 4 to 6 eggs so im unsure why your clinic are saying that your first cycle would have to be cancelled or ivf wouldnt be good for you? If you can collect mature eggs and create viable embryos then you have a chance of creating a healthy pregnancy. My clinic personally dont stim you for quantity of eggs but more for the quality of eggs. Can you talk with a clinic who are willing to trial your own eggs?

do you know what your afc is? My amh is low but with the max dose I was able to get 7 eggs. We also did ici, zymott and aoa and 6 out of 7 fertilised. Our fertilisation rate was awful prior to this. Out of those 6 we got 3 day blastocysts. I'm currently pregnant with one but it's very very early so not getting my hopes up. Our other 2 blasts sadly didn't work but this round has been the best round out of 5. If this doesn't stick then I'll be going for donor eggs xxx

Hi have you heard of create fertility? They have various clinics in the uk . Im about to start a scan and initial consultation soon as my amh is low 2.6. I researched create is good for mild ivf or natural modified ivf . Do a bit of research as it might help you ? Also research dhea 25mg x3 a day and supplements in it starts with the egg . Xxx

@DogMum87i think your choice of clinic will be very important. I would take a look at the evewell, they seem to be very good x
