Hey everyone,

Im looking for some help on timeliness regarding nhs ivf.

I have my first clinic consultation on the 11th of feb after being accepted for treatment and I'm wondering how soon after this meeting to expect injections to start?
The only reason I ask is because I am taking orlistat and want to know if I should be stopping or not.

Thanks all
Le

I had my first consultation today and she assured me I’d be able to start treatment from my next period, which happens to be in 3 weeks so there is time for me to get the additional blood test done that they require and sign the consent forms.

I don’t think you’ll know until your consultation on the 11th when you’ll be able to start yours as perhaps you’ll need additional tests or there may be a longer wait at your clinic.

Hi OP, I have just come across your post while I was looking for timelines myself. How did you get on at your appointment, did they give you an idea of timelines?

hey, we had to wait 3.5 months after our initial appointment for our nurse consent appointment and can’t start until the following month. Our nhs funding came back quickly but for one of my friends it took several months

For me I got funding letter after 1-2 weeks which had the choice of clinics on it.
once we picked our clinic that was it they had no waiting times and after our first consult were ready to start in 3 days (but we opted to wait for the cycle after that) xx
