IVF short cycle - any learning to share?

So the day has finally arrived after 2years wait, I have started IVF short cycle and on day2 of my stims injections taking Menopure 187.5. Tbh i have found the jpurney somewhat overwhelming I hardly remember details from the consultations. I have the short protocol process written on paper which I keep going back to daily (never felt so dumb!). Despite this feeling quite positive!

Im 36yrs old with pcos, recent AMH showed 26.5. Husband has low sperm count & quality. We both have been working extra hard to bring our BMI down and currently sitting just below 30 (i wish I had worked abit more harder to bring this down further).

So yeah just looking for some advice from those that have gone through and anything you would have done differently in retrospect?

What stim med were you on and did you experience OHSS?
In the end how many rounds did you complete?
Did you pay for the advance embryo incubator?

Thanks! 💜

Good luck with your cycle. I found with menopur I don’t have any side effects. With your partners low count and quality - are your clinic doing ICSI for you?

Also no OHSS - but did have a freeze all cycle. I had two full cycles with success on the second cycle first transfer.

Thank you x

They will check his sample on the day and if still low then will proceed with ICSI. Sounds like thst would be a better option as have read some great success stories on here.

Glad you had successful IVF. Excuse my ignorance, what's a freeze cycle and why would that happen and what's deemed a full cycle?

Sorry @Lavendar01 I didn’t see the notification on this. A freeze all (FET) is when the transfer is delayed until you are ready. For my last cycle, I was due to have a fresh transfer on day 5 but my clinic did a blood test and my hormone levels were not at the right level so I was moved to a frozen cycle. FETs have a slightly higher success rate and this is a recommended route for folks that may have OHSS x
