Borderline HCG result 10dp5dt

My clinic called me yesterday to say my 10 day beta result was borderline. Not pregnant is less than 5. Borderline 5-25. Mine is 5.7. I had some brown spotting 1-2 days before the blood test (so about 7-8 days post transfer). The clinic is worried it could be an ectopic (or a chemical) so am back tomorrow for another test. I’ve still got intermittent brown spotting and period pain (assume that’s the progesterone) but no other real symptoms.

Does anyone have any positive stories about late implantation - or should I just accept it’s either an ectopic or miscarriage now?

This was my only euploid embryo and I was feeling so hopeful.

Thank you 💙

oh man i'm so sorry to hear this, you'd hope with a euploid you're as much in the clear as you can be... did they flag any issues beforehand?

Really sorry you are going through this, I'm currently in the limbo stage of low hcg bloods and waiting for a scan, although mine were a little higher they were still on the lower side, I think the main thing is that the levels are doubling, my first result was 57 at 11dp5dt and then 120 2 days later so the clinic was happy but I still can't help but think the numbers are too low. My tests have only really this week got abit darker and I'm now 3 weeks and 2 days post transfer so I'm hoping it was a late implanter!
It really is such an unfair rollercoaster. Will keep my fingers tightly crossed for you tomorrow that your numbers double xx

I’m sorry that you’re experiencing this worry. I’m not sure if there are different markers in different clinics but I asked at my blood test what number they’d be looking for and they said anything over 50 (at day 11) and once it doubles after that. Were you on progesterone for your transfer?

Thanks so much all for your messages.
@ziraficano issues before - transfer was fine (it’s my third failed transfer however but this is the first embryo we have known is euploid.

@waitingforourmiracleso sorry you’re in limbo. I think it’s really positive your tests are darker and I’ve read so many success stories with numbers close to yours (less so with a HCG of 5.7!) got my fingers crossed all goes well for you too 💙

@SummerSolstice25yes was on cyclogest (they’ve told me to continue for now). They said above 25 they’d be happy with 5-25 is a grey area.

This fertility business is so unfair. I read so many stories of how it works so easily for some and for others is so so hard.

Im sorry your going through this. In November of last year my hcg at 13dpt was only 14 and I ended up having a chemical. With numbers as low as yours id say it will unfortunately be a chemical. It might rise a little and then come down or by the time you have your next beta test the hcg will be back under 5. If you stop your progesterone id say you would have a bleed.
