Fertility Clinic NHS referral

Is anyone waiting for an appointment following a GP referral to their nhs fertility clinic? We only got one choice come through for our local gynaecology department at the hospital, but there are no appointments available and it is saying average wait is 15 weeks!

I am wondering whether to go back to the GP and ask if they can refer us to another fertility clinic

Ah I'm so sorry, everything feels such a long time with IVF. I think my first apt was about 2-3 months after referral, and we had a choice of a clinic which we picked over the hospital. From referral to starting medication it was 10 months, and embryo transfer was 2 months after that. But your hospital might be much quicker once you're actually in their system.

I would say definitely ask about somewhere else just in case!

Hey its really depends where you live i think & how long you’ve been TTC.
I had an appointment through within 6 weeks but was told the wait was up to 17 weeks. You could also ring the booking office and see if they have any cancellations?

Ok 6 weeks vs 17 is okay isn’t it!
I’ll give them a call. Thank you x

it really depends on your situation though as i’m tubeless so can’t get pregnant naturally and was given a priority appt, but was told it’s sometimes luck of the draw! also having private testing done can speed up the process! X

Our nhs app said it was a really long wait list but the actual appointment came through for less than 8 weeks, so if it was on the nhs app I’m not sure if it’s accurate?
