Has anyone had Atosiban before embryo transfer?

After several failed transfers my clinic have suggested I try Atosiban at the next attempt - they will measure uterine contractions first and if deemed necessary I will have the injection to possibly help with implantation.

Just wondering if anyone else has experience of this, good, bad or indifferent?

I do have 1 child from previous fertility treatment, born by c-section and have had c-section scar repair. Lining is (touch wood) always pretty good, trilaminar etc.
I’m taking vitamins and supplements and eating well (I do anyway). Thanks!

I’ve not heard of it - is this a treatment in the U.K.? Sorry to hear you’ve not had success post c section defect repair, I’ve also had this surgery recently and was hoping it might be the fix for me after 3 failed transfers!

Hi @NiftyAmberLion Atosiban is an injection mainly given to pregnant women who are in premature labour to prevent contractions. They will check if my uterus is contracting an hour before transfer and if it is, they will inject me, if not they won’t do it.

It’s in Spain although I think some UK clinics are doing it. There’s not really enough evidence/research as yet but the clinic are looking at any add-ons that might help after several unsuccessful FETs.

The repair surgery was after already having unsuccessful transfers so who knows, hoping it may also help - sorry if my post gave the impression that was before my transfers. Hoping the surgery will help you too.

Other things I’m doing are extra vitamin D, probiotics. They have offered embryo glue but said they don’t rate it highly but they have it available as some patients want it.

Apart from that I will probably go back to completely random advice from when I started out having IVF to keep my feet warm (winter is approaching so might as well).

Good luck with your next FET.

Thank that’s helpful I’ll look into a as really at the stage where I’ll throw anything at it now! I’m going to do Emma Alice, probiotics and look into HCG wash and PRP. Have also sent my embryos for testing so waiting to see if we get a euploid for transfer. Hope your FET goes well.
