Finally pregnant after miscarriages

My wife is 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant after ivf (our first positive after several failed transfers and a miscarriage before). We did think we would never get to this stage.

Up until a couple of days ago, she had been feeling tired, a bit nauseous, and her breasts were sore and itchy — but now those symptoms have suddenly eased off. She hasn’t had any bleeding or cramping, but we can’t help worrying something might be wrong. Chat gpt says that everything is fine and we won’t know until next week at the scan.

Our first scan is scheduled for next week and the wait feels endless.

Its so worrying when symtoms start to ease off. Is your partner still on her ivf meds? It could be the ivf meds settling in now with the pregnancy or just fluctuating pregnancy symptoms which both is totally normal. She might feel alright for a couple of days and then all of a sudden be very sick again. Hopefully your scan that is coming up will be reassuring and everything is all on track.

In all my pregnancies there were days were suddenly my symptoms switched off for a break and I didn't feel pregnant at all. So quite normal in that sense.

I’m early pregnant (5ish weeks) and there are days I’m like, shit, I feel nothing, and then my (mild) symptoms come back. I’ve been letting myself (possibly unwisely) take pregnancy tests every few days to check my line is still as strong. The tests can’t get any darker, but it’s reassuring to see them not getting any lighter. (After 8 weeks the hook effect can make tests lighter but you’re earlier than that). Good luck. It’s such a worrying time. 2 mcs also.
