How do ivf work due date ?

just wondering does anyone know .. how the IVF clinic will work out a due date, do they use LMP (last period) date or the conception date to work out how many weeks pregnant you are? Thanks

They work it out based on your transfer date so much more accurate than lmp. You can use an online calculator too www.whattoexpect.com/ivf-due-date-calculator/

As Strawberry says a very accurate way to calculate due date but my NHS hospital completely ignored the IVF due date calculations and put me almost a week further along at the 12 week scan!

This happened to me too! But have stuck to original dates as that’s what my fertility clinic advised. Don’t want them pestering me for induction etc at 39 weeks!

On the day of transfer, you are 2 weeks plus however many days the blastocyst is so 3 or 5. Then just normal counting after that. So one week after a 5 day blastocyst transfer you are 3 weeks and 5 days. Still confuses me 😂

@Sara237 ..oh that’s not how I was thinking at all , thanks for this .. so if my transfer was on the 16th and it was a day 6 blast FET .. that would make me 4+1 already ? Hmm .. not sure if that seems right ? As my test date is tomorrow (ten days after transfer) my LMP day 1 was 30th sept .. so I was thinking week 4 would start on Monday ? Is this totally wrong ? Also I was triggered on the 9th which was day ten of my cycle .. so not sure I am so confused ?!

Yes, 4 weeks and 1 day today. My transfer was 6th October and I'm 5 wks 3 days today. So confusing but it's how all pregnancies are dated as they assume we'd ovulate 2 weeks before period so add that on. It confused me for ages till I realised they add 2 weeks onto all pregnancies! It's the only aspect of IVF where time goes oddly fast!
