Hi everyone

I just need to vent and also want to see if anyone has any advice. Thank you for letting me feel heard!

I've just had my second failed transfer after 12 months TTC with no success and 2 MMCs previous to this.

We've had loads of the 'standard' tests and no issues found (blood test, hycosy, APS etc). Husbands sperm is good and although my AMH is on the lower side for my age we got 3 'excellent' quality blastocysts from the first round. I'm 33 years old.

Maybe I wasn't managing my expectations well, but I really thought one would stick and I'm feeling pretty hopeless right now.

I think my consultant will recommend to go ahead with the third transfer and then to do PGT-A with the next collection and further testing. I'm wondering whether I should push for more testing now or wait until after the next transfer?

I just can't work out why it's not working out for us, why we could get pregnant and now we can't and why we still have no answers. Given our history I feel like something must be wrong and it's not just bad luck or random chance.

Any advice would be massively appreciated!

Hi @PurpleLake sorry for what you are going through, it’s really rubbish.

i am in a similar situation, 3 failed transfers (one working but mmc at 7 weeks so I count this as failed)! I requested a meeting with consultant to see what other tests can be done before we move forward with our one remaining embryo, I just don’t want to feel like we have wasted it if there is something else wrong! That and I was 33 at the last egg collection and would be 35 at next so feel like we would have even less chance this time!

I don’t really have any advice based on experience but just thought I would share what I decided! I also haven’t had the appointment just yet so not sure what the outcome will be.

I hope you can get some answers 💜

Im so sorry for the journey your on and it not working out. Sometimes with low egg count it can also mean poorer quality then someone with a normal range so the best thing to do is have your embryos tested. Get your partner on some fertility supplements and if your not already taking something then id suggest finding something for yourself. We started trying for our last child in November last year , we had 1 embryo left from a cycle we did back in 2022 but unfortunately we had a miscarriage which id say is technically called a chemical as it was before 5 weeks. We have done 2 more egg retrievals and from the second retrieval we got 2 blasts, one didnt take at all and we are due to transfer the last one.

@jenk91 thank you! Sorry you're going through this too! We are fortunate in that we have a 3 cycle package, but we could easily get through it all if there's an underlying issue that we don't know about! I'll see what our consultant says about the tests and will feed back!

@Miraclemuma03 thank you, we are both taking proceive and extra coq10 and omega 3. I think we will do PGT-A next time but we need to transfer the remaining embryo before we can move to the next collection. We are a bit limited as we are on an Access fertility package! Fingers crossed for your remaining embryo!

Test your husband. DNA extend frag test ( fertility solutions!) and FISH (fertilyis) goes beyond usual bog standard test which might not pick up the issue
