12dp5dt two bfps and light bleeding for 3 days

Hi

I now have two positives, most recent being 30 mins ago at 12dp5dt which was a darker line that the test at 10dp5dt. OTD is tomorrow. I have been bleeding lightly and quite watery for 3 days now. Started quite brown then went brighter red and now darker red/brown again. Mostly present when wiping, No other symptoms apart from tiredness. I’m taking cyclogest rectally.

I will report the positive test to the clinic tomorrow as instructed. Does anyone have any experience of what the next steps may be due to the bleeding? Blood test? Scan? Very worried and anxious.

TIA for any shared experiences or advice.

Hey, sorry you don’t have any replies yet. I don’t have experience of this, just bleeding a few weeks in. From those experiences, I have scoured the internet looking for comfort and I will say there are all sorts of reasons for bleeding in pregnancy (more so ivf with progesterone and all) that aren’t necessarily bad news.

i would think blood tests would be good peace of mind if you can see hcg roughly doubling every two days. A scan might show reasons for bleeding or at least where the bleeding is coming from though I assume won’t show anything embryo-wise yet.

Thanks for your kind reply. I think you are right - another waiting game! I just didn’t think it would be positive at all and can’t believe my eyes lol. I will call the clinic this morning and get some advice. X

Best of luck. I’m 8dp5dt with a faint positive but I’m looking for blood every time I go to the loo (two pregnancies no babies!) first time ivf has given me anything so also deeply surprised.

if I were you with just the watery blood that did get red but is now brown, plus the fact that your lining has progesterone to stabilise plus embryo is now making its own progesterone, I would be thinking (hopefully) that it was just heavier than usual residual implantation bleeding while embryo burrows in. I’ve heard of women having spectacular bleeds and still being healthily pregnant. Your lining should be stable so it’s not like it’s a period coming. I’m saying this just as my logical brain would think, obvs not with real midwife knowledge, but it feels reasonable!

@Norfolk1983 I hope all goes ok. Just to say that in my successful IVF pregnancy I had pinky brown discharge on wiping for the first 13 weeks of pregnancy. I was anxious going to the loo from embryo transfer to my c section at 39 +1. I haven't known anyone else with such prolonged bleeding during pregnancy (and then 13 weeks afterwards), but it does happen.
