Gardenella - uterine microbiome pregnant

Hello has anyone received their uterine microbiome test at same time as finding out they are pregnant? I have high gardenella in uterus 65% and only 22% lactobacillus. I’m not sure what my clinic will recommend as I won’t see them until Friday. Has anyone taken metronidazole for BV in early pregnancy? I’m petrified of the uterine bacteria affecting this pregnancy and also strong antibiotics in early pregnancy. My clinic initially advised 4 antibiotics for 3 weeks but said they will review now Friday if pregnant.

Hi @Sarahdaydreamer1234 sorry to hear that, I don't have direct experience of gardnerella but I needed to boost my Lactobacillus after a test showed I was low, and was recommended (by a nutritionist) Biome Her activated probiotics, or optibac pregnancy.

Hope you can get clear advice from your clinic soon, and all is well!

Thanks @orangewillow were you pregnant at the time? Was that result from a uterine microbiome test too? I will look at those probiotics thank you!

Iti did a vaginal micriobiome rather than uterine. It was just before an embryo transfer, which was successful and I've alternated those 2 probiotics since (when I run out of the Biome Her will stick with the optibac)

I had a one of session with a nutritionist to go through the microbiome results and get tailored recommendations which I found really helpful, my Dr knew a bit but not loads about microbiomes so I thought a nutritionist would be helpful to tick all the boxes.

I know probiotics alongside antibiotics is thought to be a good idea so you're putting the good stuff back in as the antibiotics gets rid of all the bad stuff!
