IVF Edinburgh fertility centre (NHS)

ive just been added to the nhs funded wait list for IVF at Edinburgh fertility centre at ERI. I’ve been told the list is 10-12 months wait.
does anyone have any experience there? Is it actually 11 months or is it longer/ sooner?
Any tips or experiences welcome!

I got added to the list start of June and got a call to make an appt in Sept... I'm not sure how long it is after that appt but I was told it was much shorter than 12 months.

I'm also so curious on peoples wait times at Edinburgh for NHS funded IVF, I'm on the list from november and the letter said its 11-12 month wait but was wondering if that is correct or people get to start quicker than that

I got added to the waiting list in June and got a call in Sept. Went in December for the pre nurses appt and everything and then had to get in touch when I got my Jan period. I did down reg/long protocol (which I think they largely encourage people to do there because timings more easily controlled) so it felt like a long process. Egg retrieval start of March.

I have found them a really lovely and caring bunch.

That's really exciting and seems like it was so fast to start! When I was googling it seemed like self-funded was quicker than NHS funded so that is really optimistic to hear your experience was quick to start on NHS. Thanks for sharing and sending postive thoughts for your journey

@AeriEcho Oh sorry, I should have said that we were self funded (though through the NHS Edinburgh Fertility Clinic). Sorry I didn't notice that part in your original message 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ive just see on ERI website on waiting list section that they are booking in people added to the list in June 2025! Hopefully will hear in summer
