Please please please dont tell me if yours ended in a chemical as i am looking for reasurance right now, i am absolutely terrified. My test hasnt progressed, the photo on the left is 5dp5dt and the photo on the right is today at 6dp5dt and is visibly lighter, obviously i am in complete panic mode that its a chemical, does anyone have any reasuring stories of their lines doing similar and everything ended up ok?
I have just had 2 faliled transfers, and this is our 3rd chance and im so scared :(.

Testing this early so close together doesnt allow for the hcg hormone to increase high enough in the urine to be detected on a hpt and it fluctuates depending on how much you have had to drink and so on. You have to allow 2 to 3 days between testing to allow the hcg to double which will then show on a hpt. The best thing you can do is wait a few days or even better, wait for OTD.

Thanks. I know, waiting until OTD is much easier said than done unfortunately, if i had the will power to do that i would. They were both taken with first morning urine, so i would have thought it would be the same concentration. Thanks for your info about the fluctuations though and how long it can take for the hcg to double, i thought it doubled in 24hrs!

No up to 3 days is perfectly normal and as you get further along it takes longer to double.. if your test isnt darker in 2 or so days then id worry but I also want you to know that these particular tests need a large amount of hcg to darken so they could look the same for a couple of days until you get a big jump in hcg and then it will become darker so they arnt very reliable for progression for a lot of woman.

These look very promising for 5/6dp5dt. Agree with the other poster definitely no need to panic at this stage. You need a bit more time. Good luck 🤞

Mine took a while to darken, I found second morning urine gave me darker lines than first. Currently 9wks.

Thank you. Unfortunately my 9dp5dt beta came back at 14.7, and my lines have started fading. I have a second beta tomorrow but it’s pretty much confirmed a chemical pregnancy sadly.

So sorry @NN30. Hope you’re ok as you can be 🤍

Whisper99 · 22/08/2025 18:08

NN30, I was so happy reading your thread from the beginning. I'm sorry to hear beta is on a low side. It's a heartbreaking journey...

May I ask, is it not too early to repeat beta next day? I thought it's every 38-48 hours for it to double?

I have got a repeat tomorrow which will be 48 hours later, but the level at 9dp5dt needs to be above 50, being so low makes it unlikely that it’ll be viable. Plus the fact my tests have lightened indicated my HCG is dropping not doubling sadly xx

I’m so sorry to see you had a chemical. I had one on my second transfer and it was a complete head f*. My next transfer was successful, don’t give up hope. Wishing you all the luck ❤️

This was our 5th transfer! One resulted in our beautiful 4 year old but have also had 2 failed, one 5 week miscarriage and now the chemical, the chemicals felt the hardest for some reason, your right they are such a mind game! Congrats on your second transfer! I’m hoping we can finally give our daughter a sibling with the next one 🤞🏻 x

Aw I’m so sorry, fingers crossed for you.

I don’t know why I said 2nd, it was our 3rd transfer! I’m starting the process of a FET in 2 weeks to try and give our son a sibling. I think I thought once I had one it would be easier, but I’m already so anxious.

Hope your next embaby sticks 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 x
