FET after one successful IVF cycle 5 years ago

We had IVF 5 years ago which resulted in our son being born from our first and only fresh embryo transfer. We are now booked in to have our one and only frozen embryo transferred next week. We only ever had the two embryos. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and had no issues during pregnancy. I’m now 41.
My question is has anyone had success with two consecutive tries? Am I kidding myself that this will work or did we just get really lucky the first time?

Congratulations on your success with your first transfer.
There is no way of knowing if the next will be successful as there’s so many things to think about when it comes to the IVF process and transfer, but there’s also no reason to believe it won’t work if you don’t encounter issues prior and during transfer (I.e. lining, etc.). Even grading isn’t much to go off as some (myself included) have had AA grades fail and I’ve seen others state they’ve had success with embryos that are deemed poor quality.
It really is a mentally challenging process to go through and I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully you get another positive outcome x
