Will I get referred?

Hi everyone,

I have already been told by my GP that I am being referred to the fertility clinic due to trying to contrive since February 24. Myself and my husband have been through all the tests and had the results back (all fine). I know that if my BMI is above 30, I won’t be eligible for IVF but will the clinic still see me before and investigate more or will they just not even see me until my BMI is lowered?

My clinic saw me, I lied to GP so they didn’t put BMI on referral. Went on weight loss injections whilst waiting for referral. By the time I was seen (5ish months) BMI was 30.9, they told me I had to get under before we started which took another three or so months for tests etc. came off MJ 1 month before treatment

That’s great that they saw you. Unfortunately my GP knows my BMI but also knows I’ve been on a weight loss journey. I did mention it when she said I would be referred and she said because I’m losing weight (I have it down from 37 to 34 so far and I’m pretty certain it will be under 30 by the end of the year) she doesn’t see why not. I just don’t want to not be seen until my BMI is under and then put on a waiting list because that’s just so much more time! I asked my GP about my BMI and she still said I’ll be referred. I hope this means the clinic will see me even with a higher BMI!

it’s so hard because im really not unhealthy! Just very short!
