Anyone used decapeptyl to stop ovulation?

My clinic want me to have this to stop ovulation as I'd ovulated by day 10 on a medicated cycle and by day 6 on a natural cycle. But they want me to take it a week before period yet I'm irregular so how will I know? The other thing confusing me is the effect on pregnancy. It says on it that it musn't be taken if pregnant so why used just before a FET? And does it really have to be done by a nurse, in buttock? Oh it's just continuous delights... 😂 😭

Hi @Sara237, how are you, sorry your previous cycle was cancelled (we met on another board). Yes I had it, different brand name in Greece, a week before my period, they calculated approximately, though I am regular. I did it myself in the bum, was fully ok. They sent me a YouTube video how to do it. Doing medicated too, so far all good, next Tuesday transfer

@FlatWhiteAnyone Hi! Thanks, just planning to start medicated soon though may not be August due to existing holiday booking. So you injected into your own buttock, impressive 😂 You may be more more flexible than me but that's good to hear as I could really do without extra costs of private nurse... everything crossed for your transfer.

@Sara237thank you!! Flying on Sunday as need a Covid test apparently and DH not allowed in due to covid restrictions…back to that era. So actually flying on my own as DH needs to travel with our son
Injection top of buttock, no real flexibility needed 😅, you don’t even need to see it, easier than thigh or tummy I did! DH was travelling so had to do myself

@FlatWhiteAnyone I didn't realize Greece were back to Covid regulations. Is that just your clinic or the actual country requirements? I'll be doing the same if I ever get to transfer; my husband will stay at home with my son and I'll fly over the night before. We all went over in April for an appointment and it was such a long day and so expensive for all 3 of us so I don't mind going alone but I'm sorry that you don't have the choice if you wanted them with you...back to this injection as it's playing on my mind, how did you feel on it? Side effects sound hideous. Did you have the 3mg all in one go? I dreamt about it last night 😂 think an a bit stressed.

@Sara237no only clinic requires a test. I also don’t mind going on my own there, too much problem to bring everyone there.
injection was ok, not painful at all, just tedious to prepare it and mix all properly (mine was just powder that required mixing). After I was a bit down, till started taking estrogen pills.
