IVF EC/Embryo Help

Hi,

I had a high number of eggs collected on my first collection and sadly all transfers with the 4 blastocysts we managed to get at the end all failed. They kept saying everything (lining, good grade embryo, etc.) seemed “perfect” so the consultant said it was likely due to the large number we had collected and will reduce drug dosage.

Anyway, fast forward to now - I’m currently having stims for what will be a freeze all cycle again and I currently have more than last time, so I’m worrying that this will just be a waste of time again if the consultant was right about the high number retrieved.

Has anyone had success after having a large number of eggs retrieved please? For context, I have pcos hence why I tend to get a lot of eggs.

Are you saying you have had 4 transfers and no success? Then this is an implantation issue that needs assessing i would think not an egg or embryo issue. Having 4 embryos to transfer is a good number and you responded well the first time to the treatment. What tests have you had done for uterine lining or any immune testing? Also have you had your embryos tested?

@Miraclemuma03 thanks so much for responding. 3 transfers with 4 embryos (last was a double). I did question potential implantation issues but they said everything looks fine and likely issue was number collected as it was mid 40s. This time on scan, there’s over 60 so I feel if that’s the case, I could have the same issue.
I don’t believe they’ll do the additional tests as this is my last round on nhs. I guess I will have to look into those tests if I don’t have any luck with this cycle as I will then need to look into private treatment. They always say I have triple pattern lining but does that mean I could still have lining issues?

Yes there can still be lining issues or immune issues even if lining looks good on screen. Also you can have embryos tested. It shouldnt matter how many eggs you collect, its quality over quantity and 4 embryos is a good outcome. Id be concerned for doing more transfers and they not working. I dont know all about ivf, I just know my own cycles and reading other woman's diagnosis and so forth.
