Hi @Jemx18 you are young-ish so egg quality should be on the good side. My AMH was 3.5 I was 36 on my first collection got 5 eggs yielding 1 day 6 low-average quality blast which was fresh transferred but failed. I since read that fresh transfers have less success for day 6 blasts but that’s a different discussion I think. At 37 on second collection got 4 eggs from which we got 1 day 5 good quality blast, transferred fresh and so far this has been successful although early days. My advice is to obviously not compare your egg yield with other women with good/average AMH as it’s just not possible for us to produce that many. I’ve read stories of women who did but it’s quite rare. Having said that, IVF could still work. You just need to manage your expectations. Best of luck OP.

@Jemx18 Also suggest getting your male partner checked if you have one just to make sure that there isn’t anything that can be corrected his side. Usually low amh is not an explanation of why we can’t conceive naturally esp if you ovulate regularly. We since found that my husband’s sperm dna fragmentation is higher than average (although sperm analyses were always normal) which led to a refererral to a urologist specialising in male fertility which led to varicocele diagnosis and embolisation. We did our second cycle 3 months after the embolisation and although we will never know for sure, I think the embolisation plus adding Zymot to ICSI has helped in our subsequent success.

Hi OP, sorry to hear you’re going through this. I’m 35, I haven’t tested my AMH in a couple of years now but it was measured at 3.3pmol, 5.3pmol and then 2.4pmol when I was 31-32 years old. I started off freezing as I wanted to bank embryos then moved to transfers as we have MFI as well (1-2% morphology).
For me this has looked like:
Round 1 - started with 9 follicles, 5 eggs collected, ICSI 1 5 day embryo made it to freeze
Round 2 - start 8 follicles, 5 eggs collected, ICSI & PIMSI, 1 5 day embryo made it to freeze
Round 3 - start 7 follicles, cancelled cycle, poor response, looked like max 1-2 eggs would make it if any.
-changed protocols to slightly different drugs -
Round 4 - start 18 follicles, 12 eggs collected, ICSI, 5 embryos made it to freeze (all 5 day except one 6 day embryo)
Round 5 - start 9 follicles, cancelled cycle, same issue as round 3 despite new protocol.
moved on to frozen transfers:

  • x1 on board, BFP MMC at 8+5, growth was behind from 6 weeks
  • x1 on board, BFN
  • x1 on board, BFP, breastfeeding her as I type :)
left with 4 frosties to try for no 2 later.

Good luck!
