IVF follicle sizes

I am doing my first round of IVF, and am on day 9 of the cycle.
I have 8 follicles on the right that are: 17, 14, 17, 12, 12, 12, 18, 12
I have 7 follicles on the left that are: 19, 18, 14, 11, 12, 18, 15
They said day 10 and 11 I should carry on with the injections, and day 12 I will take the trigger shot.
Does anyone have any experience and have a likelihood that any of the 12mm follicles will be big enough? Everything I have read has said this is really small.

I had 1 which was measuring 11mm the day of trigger and it contained a mature egg as I only had 5 follicles and collected 5 mature eggs. Good luck! X

I think it’s really hard to predict rate of growth as some grow slowly and some a lot quicker! The clinic will be trying to get you to do your triggger at a time when you have the best chance of capturing eggs at the ‘optimal’ size - approx 19-23mm. As the poster before says, some of the smaller ones may still contain a mature egg, and any that have grown bigger may do also, but may also have eggs which are poor quality given they have grown too big.

it’s basically all a big lottery and I would trust your clinic to be able to try and capture the optimum number!

your numbers look great - you look set to get a really good number of eggs, but also remember it’s quality not quantity so the eggs you do get should all be at a really great size and hopefully mature. Best of luck!

It wouldn't surprise me if you get a mature egg out of all of those. A decent cohort.

Just to give an update...
19 eggs were retrieved, 14 were mature and 12 were fertilised.

@Expatinsingapore that's excellent. Looks like all but one of the follicles you first listed made it.
