IVF first timer - advice

Hello

I have recently received NHS funding for IVF and have all bloods, scans, semen analysis in place. I have had a treatment plan but it only gives the drug names and says I’m going to be on a short protocol. The clinic have simply said that I should contact them on the first day of my period and they will get started on the treatment plan.

does this mean that I will have scan a few days after that? Will I be given the medication at that appointment?!

any experiences welcomed as I’m not quite sure what they mean and whether it’s all go from that point!

I’m not sure if I’ve had short or long protocol and I think the initial process can be very specific to the clinic.

In my two rounds, I’ve had to ring on the first day of my period and then on CD21 start on Northisterone to help with scheduling at the clinic.
My two cycles varied in how long I was on it- first round I was on it till CD40 and second round till CD31. In that time frame they got me and OH in for an appointment to talk through our treatment plan and show us how to inject.

Once I finished with northisterone my period started 4 days after and on the 2nd day I started injections. I didn’t have a scan until being on injections for about 6 days and then another two days after. My egg collection has always been on that week too.

I think every clinic and every cycle is different. This cycle for me i had to ring on day 1 and start the pill on day 2 for 10days. Iv now stopped them and I am waiting for another bleed and I start my stims on the 13th of July. Though my previous ivf cycles I did not use the pill, I rang on day 1 and started stims on day 3 but my circumstanced have changed this time so we are trialling something different and increasing meds.
