IVF journey - late/missed fertilisation

Hello, I’m new here (didn’t even know this community existed!) — I’m so glad I found it.

Quick background:
First round of IVF = 4 mature eggs, but none fertilised.
Still felt hope.

Second round:
11 follicles collected.
8 declared “immature” (so not injected),
2 injected on day 2
1 fertilised and made it to transfer.
Nothing frozen.

Here’s the heartbreaking part:
On transfer day, the embryologist tells me 6 of the 8 “immature” eggs started fertilising late — and all 6 developed into blastocysts! Two were even hatching.

But… they weren’t frozen.
Why? Because the clinic didn’t use a time-lapse incubator and missed the fertilisation window. I asked for answers and was basically told, “nothing we can do.”

So now I’m trying for baby #2… with no embryos left… and the cost of another round is now triple what it should’ve been.

It’s been really hard. I’m doing everything I can to make another round possible — and quietly trying to fundraise. If anyone wants to know more, message me 💛

Thank you so much for reading — wishing you all strength, success and baby dust 🐣

The information regarding your second round is strange and I'm wondering if there's some missing detail.

If you were told on transfer day (I assume day 5) that 6 more had unexpectedly reached blastocyst, why were they not just frozen at that point? Timelapse to see the late fertilisation wouldn't be needed. Though it seems like you did ICSI and the immature eggs weren't injected in the first place, so how did they fertilise?
