Endometrial liming

Hey all 💕
Bit of a personal one, but I figured this might be the right place to ask. Has anyone here had any issues with their endometrial lining being too thin (or just not quite where it needed to be) when preparing for FET?
Would love to know:

  • What you tried to help improve it — meds, supplements, natural stuff, anything!
  • And if you did go on to have a successful pregnancy — do you remember what your lining thickness was at the time?
Many thanks 🤩

Yes, my transfer was delayed as my lining was at 7mm and they wanted it over 7.5. I was on Progynova (Fematab) and my daily dosage was increased from 3 to 5. I took 2 Brazil nuts a day and I got it to over 8. My transfer was delayed by 4 days but I’m now 7 weeks pregnant and glad they waited until lining was ready. I think beetroot juice can also help x

Miraclemuma03 · 05/07/2025 04:39

What is the measurements of your lining so far and when is your transfer? Are you taking supplements or medications to help thicken it? What has your clinic said?

ALittleExpressive · 05/07/2025 06:06

Heya! Yep, I had a thin lining too and they nearly cancelled our FET this month because of it.

Mine was measuring 5mm on Day 11, so I drank a glass or two of beetroot and pomegranate juices for the next 48 hours, then it measured 8mm on Day 13. I was thrilled at the quick improve, but it could have just been my dominant follicle taking its sweet time to stimulate the lining plumping. My clinic were quite happy with 8mm cause their threshold is 7mm.

I'm 2DP5DT today 🤞

It’s been over 3 years of intense IVF treatments, and despite everything, my uterine lining has rarely gone beyond 6mm. I’ve tried medicated cycles—oestrogen, Viagra, blood thinners, Progynova—but even at its best, my lining only reached 5.4mm before collapsing to 4.3mm the next day.
I’ve tried everything: daily supplements, pomegranate juice, Brazil nuts, eating meat only and even had a hysteroscopy, which confirmed no structural issues. I was told acupuncture was the last option and that I should look into surrogacy. I’ve now been doing weekly acupuncture for over a year, moved to the countryside, left a stressful job, and adjusted my exercise routine to support IVF.
There’s been slight progress since—my periods got better from barely one day to two days (wondering whether easing out on IVF treatments helped) now occasionally reaching close to 7mm, though last month I only got to 6.5mm with Viagra. We only have 3 untested embryos left, and due to very low AMH and 10 IVF rounds, there’s no chance of creating more. I’m just trying to find any way to get my lining to 7.5–8mm to give myself the best possible chance.

Thanks so much for sharing, its very helpful and reassuring 😀

@Z2309 wowie, that's a very remarkable journey you've had! You must feel completely frustrated. It really does sound like you've been trying everything amd for an extended period of time.

The only thing I can think of is giving beetroot juice a whirl and perhaps a non-medicated cycle? I'm not a medical professional in the slightest, so it could be a non-viable route for you or one you've already tried it. Perhaps long walks too, to get the blood flowing into your pelvic region, and/or reformer pilates? (I see that you've adjusted your exercise routine already though). No doubt all the remedies you've been trying have been financially burdensome, which is so sucky.

Really sorry to hear how hard a journey it's been to date.

Sending your three frosties so many positive vibes ✨️

Wow! You have definitely tried alot. What does your clinic say about this? Im not sure i have any other suggestions to give you as you have tried everything. Is there other tests you can do? Im not sure what next steps there are to take for yourself to carry a baby. This must be so frustrating for you.

TakeMeOnATrip · 06/07/2025 18:32

Hi @Z2309 sorry to hear of all you’ve been through. Multiple failures and a chronic thin lining here too so I know how frustrating it is. Have you tried a stimulated cycle? Mild stims as if you’re preparing for egg collection but then the follicles release more oestrogen to grow your lining. Or it might be worth looking into uterine PRP. Expensive and still unproven but there does seem to be some evidence of it helping some women, both in terms of thickness and receptivity.

waitingforourmiracle · 07/07/2025 10:32

I had a scan on Friday just gone and my lining was 5.5 on day 10 so hoping it'll catch up, rescan this Friday and my provisional FET date has been pushed back a week to the 18th so following this thread 💛

Z2309 · 07/07/2025 21:24

@waitingforourmiracle Keeping my fingers crossed for you — really hope your lining keeps building over the next few days. Is your doctor planning to adjust anything if you’re on meds, or are they just monitoring for now?

@TakeMeOnATrip Thanks for sharing — I’m really sorry you had to go through that too. PRP is definitely something I’ve considered, but not many clinics seem to offer it here in the UK. For my next cycle, I’ve been advised to give Trental a go… and of course, beetroot juice (which I haven’t actually tried yet)!

@Z2309 you too! I'm using evorel patches and they've added another so I'm now putting on 3 at a time x

Another member of the thin lining club here. Despite any protocol I try I seem to hover around 6.5. I believe some ladies do just naturally have thinner lining but I’ve seen lots of success stories.

Have u tried a natural cycle or a super ovulation cycle where they use low dose stims to produce some follicles so your own body starts producing its own eostrogen? I know some people have better luck with natural eostrogen made by their own body rather than medicated.

There’s a group on Facebook called ‘thin endometrium lining support’ that is very useful.

Sorry I can’t be much more help as I’m in the same boat. I think I’ve just accepted now that mine is naturally thin and hoping for the best!

I've had issues with thin lining. FET cancelled in Jan for this reason, then attempt 2 was about 3 weeks on max dose progynova, patches and vagifem pessaries. Lining got to 6.8 and went ahead, that FET didn't work. I do have a history of scarring so I had that removed with a hysteroscopy and then another FET after that- this time I was on 300 menopur which stimulated a bunch of follicles, my lining got to 6.8-7 within about 6 days of that and FET went ahead. Lining was 8.9 on FET day and it was successful, I'm 10 weeks now.

I did also drink beetroot and pomegranate juice, ate Brazil nuts and plenty of wholegrains - I did this for all 3 goes so I can't say it made a difference, but makes you feel like you're doing something! I also did acupuncture and a the day before what turned out to be my final lining scan, I had a womb massage which is meant to help with blood flow. Honestly I think it was the ivf stims that did it, and producing my own hormones, the artificial oestrogen didn't work for me. Less time on the drugs also meant I felt a lot less crap going into the FET, maybe thay helped, but could also just be lucky!

Good luck, lining issues are a real pain and very frustrating xx
