Embryo looked a funny shape. Any ideas why?

Went for my frozen embryo transfer last week. It was graded 4AA before freezing but when I saw the photo of it during transfer it looked oval in shape and the inside looked less defined. Has anyone else had this? What was the outcome? The clinic didn’t mention anything to me and I can’t ask them as it’s the weekend.

Not sure, I know every embryo is different and looks different and im sure thry would not have transferred it if it didnt have potential. Maybe just ring on Monday and see what they say.

@CroyddF Sounds like maybe it was hatching - moving up to a grade 5 or 6 and leaving the shell empty, in other words. Have a look at images and see if any resemble yours.

Oppositely, it could be that it hadn't fully expanded again yet after freezing.

Also agree with this, could have been hatching. Have you got a photo of the embryo that we can possibly have a look at also so we can give a better idea at what might be going on?

The embryo expands and contracts so it will just be the moment they have taken the picture it will have been in this shape. One of my transfer the embryo was oval too. I imagine if the inside looks less defined too it will just be to do with the focus of the microscope when the picture was taken. Good luck! 🤞
