How did you feel before fresh transfer?

Looking for any experiences or advice…

I am day 3 post egg retrieval, expecting to have a day 5 fresh transfer. Recovery has been harder than expected, and whilst I have improved, I am still not feeing 100%. My symptoms are tightness and bloating in my stomach/ upper abdomen that gets worse when I eat, and makes it uncomfortable to walk. I am quite small, so I think the enlarged ovaries might be pushing all my other insides up creating the pressure. I was very fatigued over the weekend but that seems to have gotten better now. I wouldn’t describe the feeling as painful at all, just quite uncomfortable.

I Had 7 mature eggs collected but did have a lot of follicles growing- over 20 on the day 10 scan.

This is my second fresh transfer, my first one 5 years ago was successful. I don’t remember feeling like this at all and recovered pretty quickly after retrieval.

my clinic aren’t being super helpful just keep asking if I am symptom of of OHSS, which from what I’ve read has a broad range of symptoms from mild to severe.

i don’t know if what I’m feeling is normal and expected, or if I should potentially delay and do a fresh transfer.

any experiences as to how you felt going into your fresh transfer? Thanks

With my very first ivf cycle which was nearly 12yrs ago now, I had ohss, classed as mild but I had pain and bed ridden for 2 days, with bloating and couldn't eat. Back then they did 3 day embryo fresh transfers and I made the decision to go ahead with the transfer on day 3. By day 5 which was 2dpt I was 90% better and got better each day after that quite quickly. That transfer was successful. In my opinion, some bloating and swelling can be normal after an egg retrieval but it shouldnt be painful and prolonged. If your still having severe bloating and hurt after you eat and so on by the time you get to transfer day then id inform your doctor. After each egg retrieval for me im quite tender for about 2 days but not enough to stop what I need to do but still being mindful not to hurt myself and the bloating sometimes lasts around 3 to 4 days but not with any pain or discomfort.

Thanks both for sharing. I do feel much better today although still have bloating and tightness. Nurses have said all normal. Fingers crossed all okay for transfer tomorrow!
