Back to back FET after chemical?

Hello 👋🏼

Unfortunately I am experiencing a chemical pregnancy after my FET. Lines have been very faint and gotten lighter this morning (12dp5dt). The clinic want me to test again tomorrow morning and if it’s still a faint positive they’ll book me in for a beta on Wednesday.

I really want to just crack on and do another FET straight after. The clinic said because I’ve had positive tests they’d have to consult with the Dr first, they may want my hormones to settle first.

Has anyone done this before after a chemical? How long until your tests were negative/hCG low enough? Was it successful for you?

I feel like I’ve been in limbo for days now and I don’t know if I can take more waiting around 😞 but obviously will if it’s not advised for a back to back FET.

Thank you x

Hello. Sorry you’re going through a chemical pregnancy - so cruel.
I had an FET & CP in February. My clinic didn’t say anything about hormones, and I had another FET is April.
So I think I had the cycle after the FET, then on subsequent cycle I had a scan on day 18/20, and then following cycle I had the transfer. (So one full normal cycle between transfers). I’m now 8.5weeks.
My cycles were all natural medicated (only took the trigger shot & progesterone), so I guess it may depend on what hormones you’re on.
Good luck !!

Thank you for replying! Ah I see, so you had one cycle in between. That’s great that it’s worked for you, congratulations!

I’ve had a medicated FET so I’m on estrogen and progesterone. I figure I’d just stop both, have a period and start estrogen on CD2 again! But obviously I’m no expert 😅

If you don’t mind me asking, how long did it take for you to test negative? @Evi83

I didn’t test negative - I went for beta bloods at the clinic. And when the second one came back significantly lower (as I knew it would), that’s when I stopped meds. I think that was at about the 5 week mark. Then when I stopped the progesterone my period start within a day or two as I remember.
Im sure your probably know in your heart - but do keep taking the meds until its absolutely confirmed by your clinic (there’s always a little bit of hope).
Wishing you lots of luck. Hopefully next time round it’s the one!

Makes sense.
Yes absolutely still taking my meds, the delusional last glimmer of hope is hard to kill off. Although, like you said, I just know. They’re barely visible unfortunately.

Oh I’m sorry. It’s truly rubbish 🩷 (altho - maybe a positive way to look at it is that your body did all the right things to get pregnant, it’s just that this embryo wasn’t meant to be…. So when you do get the right embryo, your body will know exactly what to do!) x

Im so sorry. I read your comment in the other post and just felt truly heartbroken for you. I just wanted to share my story. We did a FET in September of 2023 which was a positive outcome and we didn't have a chemical but unfortunately at 15 weeks we had no choice but to have a TFMR im telling you this because our ivf doctor told us once I stopped bleeding from giving birth I could have my cycle tracked again and go straight in for another FET as long as there was no complications and I was ready. We decided not to go ahead with another cycle back to back as we were having a hard time with grieving but decided 3 months later to do another transfer and that one was successful. So my point of the story is, yes you can do a back to back transfer and stims cycle after a loss as long as there are no complications and your ready.

Another very very faint positive this morning so I’m in for bloods tomorrow morning. Thanks @Evi83 that’s what I’m hoping for too!

@Miraclemuma03 thank you so much ♥️ I’m so sorry to hear about your TFMR. That must have been so difficult. So happy for you that your next FET worked. I think I’d just rather get straight back in the saddle and hope my body remembers what it did last time & hope our luck changes.

@Miraclemuma03 hi just seen your comment, im sorry about your loss. I had a failed fresh transfer, failed FET last year and then in January my first positive for 2nd FET however I had to TFMR at 14 weeks in April. I've just had my second period since the tfmr. I really want a baby. Can I ask after your tfmr the transfer you did was it same protocol as the one that resulted in your loss? I have a hard time trusting anything at the moment. Part of me is saying well it worked let's do the same. The other part of me is scouring the Internet ridiculously looking for something- I don't know what! And I'm just terrified of nothing working 🤦‍♀️

My 2 transfers were frozen transfers but I did one medicated and i chose to do the second natural. Im sorry for your losses. I hope your next cycle is a positive one.

I think I'm scared to change things. I wish I was brave enough to try a natural protocol
