Private Testing - where to start?

Hi everyone!

Hoping to seek some guidance from someone who has been in a similar position. 😊 i am 27 and my husband is 32, we have been trying to conceive since an early miscarriage this time 3 years ago.

Last September i had a laparoscopy which revealed endometriosis which was removed, and adenomyosis. My consultant was confident however that the severity of my endo was not enough to be the reason behind our fertility struggles. As well as this, i have had bloods to check for PCOS, AMH, check i am actually ovulating and a Hysteroscopy, all came back ok. My husband has had sperm testing which came back clear.

This has been on the NHS so far, and we are currently on the waiting list for fertility treatment. Our diagnosis has been “unexplained infertility” however I am wondering if anybody has had any private testing that the NHS doesn’t offer that has revealed any issues?

I just want to make sure we are covering all tests possible before proceeding with IVF, feeling very drained and daunted by the whole process but I am unsure what, if any, tests I should look into.

thanks in advance, sorry for the long post x

I've heard that so semen analysis testing is fairly basic and you can pay for tests to look a DNA fragmentation, which can be a silent reason for infertility. That's not the only thing but looking at treatments lists at clinics can give you some idea of what's out there.
