Sick note for Stims?

I’ve seen quite a few people with physically/emotionally demanding jobs have had a sick note from their GP to be off work.
I work in veterinary and have a very physical job, expected to continuously lift dogs up to 50k up onto examination tables, restrain large aggressive and strong dogs, being jerked and thrashed about.
I also handle isoflurane, I’m incredibly stressed and don’t want to jeopardise our shot at having a baby.
our doctor said when I’ve started my stims I need to be taking it easy not twisting or tensing or making sharp movements.
This is not possible in my job, so I’m thinking I am going to have to be off work from when I start stims,
is the GP able to write me a paper for the date I will be off in advance? as I know when this date will be, or is it something I have to get once I get to the day I need to be off?

TIA

I think it depends on your GP/ place of work. My GP expects that you will self certify for 5 days prior to being given a sick note.

However my GP were also not very understanding about stims and how awful it made me feel. I was so weak/ tired and generally unwell but they would not sign me off for ‘ivf treatment’, so I had to go with stress instead - I do work in a high stress job but it was very frustrating at the time.

If you can’t get some from your GP, maybe your consultant at your clinic and do one? I would check with your fertility clinic x
