Progesterone has dropped - prepare for miscarriage?

Doc doesn’t seem concerned because he says numbers are still high, but feels like a big drop to me.

( this is an IVF pregnancy so numbers are higher than expected in a natural pregnancy. )
At my first beta blood test at 11dp5dt progesterone was 350 nmol/L (= approximately 110.1 ng/mL). Then my second beta was 5 days later at 16dp5dt because I had a trip, and progesterone came back as 217 nmol/L (= approximately 68.2 ng/mL). I asked my doc and he said he’s not concerned because the numbers are still high but the actual drop seems huge? Has anyone had such a big drop and sustained the pregnancy?
Beta at 11dp5dt = 698
Beta at 16dp5dt = 4,335

Sorry I don’t have experience of this as my clinic doesn’t test progesterone. Didn’t want to read and run, I think it’s reassuring the doctor wasn’t concerned. What progesterone are you on?

Beta numbers are great, congratulations!

Progesterone significantly fluctuates from one hour to the next. It will never be the exact same. You can have a massive drop then a massive high. And anything over 30 is good and will sustain a pregnancy . But if your concerned you can always ask your doctor if you can increase your progesterone.

Hi, as pp said progesterone fluctuates loads so as long as it’s remaining above the threshold it really is no big deal. Don’t forgot that you’re taking synthetic progesterone so even the time from when you took your progesterone to the time of the test can influence this. What matters are your beta numbers and they look great.

I had progesterone fluctuations early on and that little bean is now 2 weeks old laid on me feeding. My results were:

Transfer day >190 nmol/L
14dp5dt - 105 nmol/L
18dp5dt - 183 nmol/L

good luck!
