Trigger warning

just had a scan at 6 weeks and its twins!
sonographer was struggling a bit as i have a retroverted uterus but she started out abdominally and straight away could see heart beat (147Bpm) of one baby... the other is slower and she feels its not going to make it!
anyone else have issues with retroverted uterus!
not feeling any less anxious. Is there ever a time we can relax?! This has been a long and hard journey for us!!

Even with a "normal" uterus, this early on in a pregnancy it's hard to see externally. Your best bet would be getting a transvaginal scan done as it's a much clearer image. As for twin 2 it's just a waiting and see . It's just so early I'm surprised you saw heartbeats. When are you going for a scan again?.

Heart pulsations were very visible as soon as the sonographer started but to get a clearer view, she also did an internal! She wants me back on wednesday for more assessment so shall see then!

@Clairebear1208 I'd say clear flickers are a good thing. Just see what Wednesday brings. Hopefully some good progression with growth..

Wow @Clairebear1208 this must be a shock!! How many embryos did you transfer? I can't imagine being pregnant with triplets, one was more than enough for me lol. I hope things continue to progress well x

Clairebear1208 · 14/05/2025 14:40

We transferred 2... the chance of one splitting was 1-3% apparently. i am in total shock, was just shaking when she told me. Obviously it's very early days and we need to know more about the health of the babies. We have a scan with an NHS consultant next week!
