Total fertilisation failure and horrible ongoing abdominal pain

Just wanted a bit of a rant...I have low AMH and have never managed many eggs. Round 1: 2 eggs, 1 fertilised, 1 blast. Round 2: four eggs, all fertilised, 3 blasts. I had: chemical, BFN, mmc, BFN. Decided to do one last round and was thrilled to get four eggs...but oh no lucky me, none of them fertilised.

I feel like this is a conclusive statement from the universe that my eggs are all now shit, because we used donor sperm and it was excellent. But to add insult to injury, for the first time I have been suffering abdominal pain following the egg collection and it's still ongoing on Sunday evening when I had the collection on Friday.

Sigh. Don't really know why I'm posting except that I'm pissed off.

I'm so sorry for a full failed cycle. We just went through the same thing and it really hit us hard. We had 7 eggs retrieved which got me really excited because iv never collected that many before but it was all over before the first 24hrs was up. We had complete fertilisation failure even with icsi. I has 3 eggs not mature enough for icsi, 2 eggs fell apart under the scope and 2 were injected with sperm but did not fertilise. I was devastated. We had a pretty rough cycle and thought with 7 eggs we were going to make it to transfer day surely. But was not in the cards for us. We are trying one more cycle with higher meds and a longer protocol or something and if it doesn't work this time then we won't go any further. We already have kids and as much as I long for another, it just might not be in the cards for us which is really hard to come to terms with. I hope your next round is a better round and you come away with some positive news. Ivf is so hard and it takes its toll on our minds and bodies.

So sorry to hear you've been through the same thing. I wouldn't be so annoyed were it not for the fact that I think I've somehow got mild OHSS this time which I've never had before, and this was the only round where I've had absolutely nothing to show for it! I won't be doing another round, I've had enough.

@girljulian yes it sounds like you may have ohss. Can you talk to your clinic about this and maybe get a script for something to help ease the symptoms.
